Steam punkkal, mint stílussal mindig is rokonszenveztem, azonban ezen rokonszenv soha sem jutott el odáig, hogy komolyabban is elmerüljek benne. Legyen szó akár fan fiction-ről, akár ruhákról vagy szerepjátékról. Bár utóbbiban nem mondok igazat, egyszer, emlékeim szerint Shadowrunoztam. Bliki Circus is a 6 piece orchestra from Kyoto, Japan. They play a modified form of Klezmer, Musette, cabaret and tango music from Russia and Eastern Europe.

So instead of serving clients liquor and beer, they decided to intoxicate those same folks with the songs that they had envisioned them singing there.

Beat Circus is a band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 2002 by multi-instrumentalist / singer-songwriter Brian Carpenter. Beat Circus spins a wide spectrum of musical styles including progressive rock, experimental music, cabaret, circus music, Appalachian string music, bluegrass, and Southern Gospel into their own signature blend of dark, funereal America.

2008 - Dreamland

In 2006 they began recording their second full-length CD Dreamland, a 150-page through-composed score for nine musicians containing songs loosely based on the turn-of-the-century Coney Island theme park which burned in a devastating fire in 1911. Dreamland was the first installation of Carpenter’s Weird American Gothic trilogy and was produced by Martin Bisi and released on Cuneiform Records in January 2008.

The Peculiar Pretzelmen - Uncanny Eyes

Az alt-country vonal mellett erősen foglalkoztat a dark cabaret is. Legalább annyira lenyűgöz, mint az előbb említett zenei vonal. Tagadhatatlan, hogy a goth szemléletmód - tudom, hogy nem teljesen helytálló ez, de másképpen problémás lett volna megfogalmazni - mindenhová beszivárgott. Olyan, eleddig érintetlen területeket fertőzött meg, mint a kabaré és a country világa, de az avant-garde metal-ok többsége is kacérkodik a goth-tal. Egyedülálló jelenség, minden kétséget kizáróan.

Az amerikai csapatok többsége szívesen épít be zenéjébe mindenféle népzenei dolgot - gondolok itt a Appalache hegység őrült bendzsózásaira vagy a vándorló életmódot folytató szórakoztató karavánok és karneválok zsibvásári ötlethalmazára - megtoldva XXI. századi életérzéssel.

A Különös Pereces Embereknél sem alakult ez másképpen. Őrült arabok, vak látók, boszorkányok és kígyóbűvölők danolnak a közelgő Végítéletről ezzel szórakoztatva a nagyérdeműt. Nevetséges, ugyanakkor elgondolkodtató is. A nevükről nekem valahogy mindig a gonosz zsákos ember jut eszembe, aki jön és beledobja a hátán lévő zsákba a rossz gyerekeket.
