Mombu - Mombu (2011)

A Mombu a Zu nevű talján jazz-tébolymanifesztum szexi szaxisának, Luca T. Mai-nak az új projectje a Neo nevű, szintén olasz nemtomminek a dobosával, Antonio Zitarelli-vel. Mivel a Zu nagy kedvencem (májusban sikerült is korongrészegen a zenekar szívébe lopnom magam az A38 backstage-ben...), természetesen azonnal rávetettem magamat. Sokat nem mondanék, Zu-féle fejszakító szaxi és, ahogy a borítóról sejthető, afrikai tribal-dobok. Vudu mágiának meg új alkímiának meg hasonló hülyeségnek mondják magukat, nem vagyok benne biztos, hogy ez így igaz is, de az biztos, hogy megbízhatóan leőröl és elő fogod szedni még párszor. Bliki Circus diszko

Bliki Circus is a 6 piece orchestra from Kyoto, Japan. They play a modified form of Klezmer, Musette, cabaret and tango music from Russia and Eastern Europe.

Their melodies and rhythms are electronically manipulated to seamlessly blend the organic brass, banjo and accordion compositions with synthetizers and programmed beats, then they throw in a bit of punkiness.

Midori - First [EP] (japán agymenés)

Ettől garantáltan frászt kapsz. Képzeld el, hogy egy 140 centis japán lány kezébe veszi a gitárt s unalmában a többi tökfejjel az utcából elkezdenek Pattont meg ki tudja még milyen ökörségeket játszani. Circa abba az utcába érsz, ahol ezek is zajongnak.

Néhány vélemény:

Midori could be everything I've ever wanted in a band: whiplash changes in direction (but cohesive nonetheless); loud thrashy guitars; jazz piano; technically brilliant drumming; and a lunatic Japanese frontwoman. To top it off, this frontwoman plays alternately cute and murderous. Check the first song: she goes from quirky j-pop vocal affectations to straight-up death metal growling. It's something to behold. The second track flirts with pop forms in a piano-led number while the last track is a come-down ballad. The incredible cutesiness of Mariko can get a little grating at times, but on repeat listens it becomes incredibly endearing. The fifth track is another whirlwind: jazz, Melt-Banana and Deerhoof in a blender on high. I can't recommend this enough. That said, fuck if I understand any of it.

Emberek gitárral a nyakukban fúzionálnak a próbaterem közepén. Ember gitárral, ujjbegy pengetővel s húrral. Részletesen körbetekeregnek minden egyes gitárhúron, azonban ez senkinek sem fáj.

While we embrace a sprawling sense of complexity, we are untrained musicians and feel the application of musical theory is a burden on the creative consciousness and thus strive for an organic "feels good sounds good" approach to songwriting which eschews an exclusive reliance on technical skill and the typical Dream Theater douchebaggery. We're insatiable riffmongers determined to redefine the limits of creativity and are committed to the constant challenge of pushing structural arrangements further than what could be expected without embracing unnecessary emotional or musical cliches. We're amateurs on our respective instruments but confident in our ability to come up with some neat shit that isn't fucking repetitive or predictable.

[Dunkelbunt] - Morgenlandfahr (fúziós balkáni world-öt súroló ausztriai mókaság)

Most, hogy nyár alatt nyakig alámerültünk a balkáni sikátorok kosszal ágyazott kőkockái alá bukkant fel egy újdonság. Eme fickó Bécsben időzik és szabadidejében kerékpározik. Eddig teljesen hétköznapi pasasnak tűnhet, de rendelkezik némi zenei tálentummal is, így amerre csak jár, magába szívja a helyi népzene egy-egy darabkáját.
A mai modern világ zenei háttere (Dub, Reggae, Bossa, Jazz, Electronika, Trip Hop and Break Beats) előtt bábozik nekünk, így mutatva utat az esetleges követőknek. A bábok pedig a klezmerből és a balkáni folk muzsikából verbuválódtak. Vénasszonyok nyara úgyis közeledik, ha még meleg van, akkor a medence mellé lazulásnak vagy egy kicsapongós, nyarat lezáró bulin is meg tudná mozgatni a jelenlévőket.

7 For 4 - Diffusion (Jazz/Fusion/Progressive Metal)

7FOR4 are four very talented guys from Munich/Germany. Maybe talented is not the right term here because all four dispose of experience and know-how. Wolfgang Zenk who impresses with his virtuos guitar playing was a member of the German prog metal band SIEGES EVEN (which can also be found in the Prog Archives) as well as leader and lecturer of MGI München (Munich), Germany's best known institute for professional guitar education. Markus Grützner played bass for several Jazz/Fusion bands and did so on several European tours of the well known Broadway musical "Hair". Klaus Engl also is a lecturer, he works for the drum-institute "Drummer's Focus" and played together with Markus Grützner in a Heavy-Rock band. The keyboard player Markus Froschmeier has his roots in the classical genre and adds some of his influences to the general sound of the band.

Speaking about general sound I have to mention that it is quite difficult to find a term describing the style applicatively. Besides the fact that the music is all instrumental, you can say that it is a mixture of Prog Metal and Jazz Rock/Fusion, sounding as if LTE and the MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA get together. But nearly every song seems to have different influences so you can find tunes with a country, "gypsy music" or Brazilian samba flavour, most of it played incredibly fast.

Panzerballett - Starke Stucke (Progressive Metal /Jazz/Fusion)

Egy erőteljes húha kíséretében kattintottam rá a myspace-es link feliratú gombra a csapat esetén. Miért? Benne van a pakliban, hogy valami iszonyatos nagy zenei zsibvásár jön ki az egészből, ahol minden hangszer szól, csak éppen értelme nincs az egésznek. Avagy patikamérleggel mért zenei csemegék szépen rendezett összeállításának lehetünk tanúi. Itt az utóbbi tényállás forog fenn.
A 2008-as album ismertebb melódiákat dolgoz fel, például: Pink Panther, Smoke on the Water, Thunderstruck, Paranoid. Lokál jazz-be oltott metal ez kérem szépen! Szivarfüst áramlik ki a próbateremből közben lazán eltekert szaxofonszólók, adrenalint pumpáló gitárriffek löknek a földre, ja és a brummogó bőgőt se hagyjuk ki.

RIO-ra hajazó, egyes pillanataiban a Solaris-t is megidéző japán progressive rock banda a fentebb módon leírtak alapján.
